TRAGEDY befell members of Ahmadiyah in Indonesia on Sunday two weeks ago. A mob of hundreds of parang-wielding people attacked a community of 20 Ahamdiyah families at Peundey village at Cikeusik, Banten province. Three of them died gruesomely, fi ve were seriously injured. From a video recorded by an Ahmadiyah member, the attackers wore blue and green. They stripped their victims naked, battering them till they were senseless. How could such shameful acts take place? Who are behind these cowardly attacks? Is it true that ‘Jakarta people’ were behind these dastardly acts, or are they a refl ection of local politics?
