THIS presidential election pairing was registered right at the very last minute. When there was in fact only one day left in which to register as candidates for president and vice president, Hamzah Haz and Agum Gumelar visited the General Election Commission's office at Jalan Imam Bonjol, Jakarta. If this was a football match, it was as if all the other players had already warmed up while these two were still deciding which strip to wear. "It is as if this is a pairing that has just come onto the pitch during injury time," said Jelly Tobing, the veteran drummer who is a member of the Hamzah-Agum Success Team.
