THE names of potential candidates to be Joko Widodo’s running mate have frenetically been doing the political rounds in Jakarta. Political parties are now jockeying for positions of power, as the horse-trading begins in earnest, following PDI-P’s failure to secure the minimum number of votes to qualify for a stand-alone presidential nominee. However, the search for a PDI-P winning ticket is fraught with pitfalls, which only its chairperson Megawati Soekarnoputri seems capable of resolving.
