THE Hambalang scandal went to trial last week. In the process, another corruption case involving the construction of a new House of Representatives (DPR) building was exposed. Ironically, after the plans were withdrawn because of sharp public protests in 2011, billions of rupiah had already been disbursed to politicians at the DPR’s Senayan home courtesy of BURT, the Household Affairs Board.
