TARRING everyone with the same brush or generalizing certainly does not correspond to reality. Like other ethnic groups such as the Javanese, Minang, Batak, or even Bugis, those with ethnic Chinese ancestry have many different sides. There are certainly astute and successful businesspeople among the Chinese. But it is just as common to find Chinese who are outstanding in their field, without 'reeking' of business. They are extraordinarily dedicated. They possess a very genuine community awareness and can match it with the best from other ethnic groups.
