At the MPR Annual Session, two Islamic parlies—the PPP and the PBK—plowed on with their proposal to include the Jakarta Charter within the constitution, albeit to no avail. Many see the move as an attempt to sabotage the political compromise between Hamzah Haz and Megawati. Will the issue cause problems between Indonesia's two top leaders?
