Nurcholish Madjid has finally declared that he is ready to be nominated as the country's president. Previously, during the 1999 elections, Cak Nur declined to be nominated despite being approached by several parties. The founder of the Paramidana Foundation reasoned then that only party members have the right to be president. His change of heart was because of constant urging by several people.
