GUNAWAN Santosa has proved extraordinarily effective at influencing people. He charmed wardens in three different prisons to help him escape, and he got away twice. On the lam from Kuningan Prison, West Java, in 2003, he masterminded the murder of his father inlaw. During his fugitive days he often changed his appearance. His hair, eyebrows, nose, and cheekbones were all altered. The deathrow convict was finally arrested July 20, in Plaza Senayan, Jakarta.
