TEN regents and mayors were selected as Tempo’s Figures of 2008. They are just a few of some 300 regional heads who have been most successful in developing their regions by turning the shabby into neatness, providing free education and health services, transforming public health centers, creating a network of information technology to facilitate public services down to villages, and putting public interests above all else.
