Political parties are now jockeying for positions of power, as the horse-trading begins in earnest, following PDI-P’s failure to secure the minimum number of votes to qualify for a stand-alone presidential nominee. However, the search for a PDI-P winning ticket is fraught with pitfalls, which only its chairperson Megawati Soekarnoputri seems capable of resolving.
