Less than three weeks into his job as energy and mineral resources minister, Arcandra Tahar was dismissed for holding a dual citizenship. It has now been revealed that he held an American as well as an Indonesian passport, clearly a violation since senior government officials are required to be Indonesian nationals. How did Arcandra escape scrutiny? And why weren’t anti-graft organizations like the KPK and the PPATK involved in the necessary due diligence of ministerial candidates? How will this refl ect on the second-reshuffl ed government of President Jokowi?
