Aceh 2004-2014   A DECADE after the devastating tsunami, Banda Aceh is a portrait of a restored infrastructure. Today there are more new houses than ever before, newly paved roads, rebuilt and newly built schools, hospitals, museums and markets. International organizations dubbed it as the most successful post-disaster reconstruction project to date. Yet, the people seem to have learned little on the need for disaster mitigation and preparedness, important survival techniques for people living in disaster-prone areas like Aceh.
