THE National Transportation Safety Committee recently announced the results of its investigation into the crash of the Sukhoi Superjet 100. Predictably, the report was a win-win solution for all. The Russians can breathe a sigh relief that no mention was made of the plane’s engines and safety systems. Instead, the report hinted at human error, pointing at the deceased Russian pilot’s decision to ignore the warning signs from the plane’s equipment. Ironically, the problematic air traffic control only got a slap on the wrist.
